CAPSSA at the SA Heart® Congress 2025
The Cardiovascular Allied Professionals Society of South Africa (CAPSSA) proudly participated in the 25th Annual SA Heart® Congress 2025, held from 17–19 October 2025 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. This milestone congress marked 25 years of advancing cardiovascular care and was presented under the theme “Unifying Hearts and Minds.”
The SA Heart® Congress is South Africa’s leading multidisciplinary cardiovascular meeting, bringing together cardiologists, surgeons, nurses, technologists, allied professionals, researchers, and industry partners to share knowledge, strengthen collaboration, and advance patient care.
The 2025 programme featured scientific sessions, interactive workshops, and collaborative discussions designed to explore the latest developments in cardiovascular medicine and healthcare delivery.
CAPSSA formed part of the wider community of Special Interest Groups engaged in the congress activities, contributing to the scientific and professional exchange that supports improved cardiovascular practice across the region. Congress programming specifically included sessions involving groups such as CAPSSA alongside other professional societies, highlighting the role of allied professionals within the cardiovascular care team.
The event provided valuable opportunities for allied professionals to:

Across three days, delegates attended workshops, plenary sessions, and scientific presentations covering topics from clinical cardiology and imaging to innovation, mental health, and healthcare integration — reflecting the congress’s focus on collaboration and holistic patient care.
CAPSSA’s involvement reinforced its commitment to supporting cardiovascular allied professionals through education, professional engagement, and representation within the broader SA Heart® community. Participation in the congress continues to strengthen CAPSSA’s role in advancing standards of practice and fostering professional development within catheter labs, ICUs, and cardiac care environments across South Africa.
